EnPI Lite

The Energy Performance Indicator Tool Lite (EnPI Lite) estimates energy savings relative to variables such as production levels and weather. You can use this online regression-based calculator to model energy performance at the facility level. EnPI Lite is recommended by not required to meet the energy reporting requirement for 50001 Ready recognition.

Agricultural Irrigation DR Estimation Tool (AIDRET)

The Agricultural Irrigation Demand Response Estimation Tool developed by the Demand Response Research Center accurately estimates agricultural loads based on weather and availability of surface water. From this, it is possible to determine how much of that load can be shed or shifted as a demand response resource. Two tools are in development: a tool for PG&E personnel to use for evaluating AutoDR technical incentive applications, and a public tool for growers and aggregators to estimate the level of incentives they may be eligible for so that they can decide between available options.

Corporate Water Management Strategy for Manufacturers: Lessons learned from DOE Better Buildings Challenge Water Savings Pilot

Through the Better Buildings Challenge, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) worked closely with a select group of manufacturers to better understand the success of their water management programs. This work examined motivating factors behind their strategies, metrics used to track progress, and specific projects and activities implemented to achieve water savings. This case study serves as a resource for other manufacturers interested in developing new, or improving existing, water management programs.

The Business Case for ISO 50001 and Superior Energy Performance™

Developing an Energy Management System (EnMS) helps manufacturers assess and continually improve energy usage and operating costs in their facilities. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) operates two energy management programs: 50001 Ready and Superior Energy Performance 50001 (SEP 50001) to make it easier for companies to create their own EnMS. DOE Better Buildings, Better Plants - Driving leadership in energy efficiency

Better Buildings initiative is a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) market transformation program to drive leadership in energy innovation. Through this initiative, more than 900 commercial, public, industrial, and residential partner organizations share their real-world energy efficiency strategies and inspire others to explore their own potential for energy efficiency. 

The Better Plants program works closely with industry leaders in manufacturing and wastewater treatment to set ambitious energy, water, waste, and carbon reduction goals. The program aims to help industry partners increase efficiency, resilience, economic competitiveness, and reduce their carbon footprint through energy efficiency improvements.
